Creating Content for Social Media

Blog, Marketing

So now you have all of the accounts set up—but maintaining 2 to 3 social media platforms isn’t as easy as it seems. Creating original content for each individual site can be tricky. Do you always and only find yourself retweeting on Twitter or sharing other people’s posts on Facebook? There’s another way to engage in social media! Using one or a combination of the tools in the next section:

Canva
Canva.com is a graphic design tool you can use to create graphic quotes and promotional content. Canva has basic free tools and also upgrades you can pay for. What makes Canva great is that it has it’s own library of stock images or you can upload your own.

Pablo
Pablo at buffer.com/pablo is another website you can use to make graphics. With less options but more simplicity than Canva, Pablo allows you to create content without creating an account. Just upload an image, type your message and go.

Other graphic websites include www.picmonkey.com, and www.befunky.com.

Adobe Creative Cloud
If you’re inclined to make your own material using professional software like Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator, here are the graphic dimensions to create your images:

  • Pinterest Post: 735px X 1102px
  • Twitter Post: 1024px X 512px
  • Twitter Header: 1500px X 500px
  • Facebook Post: 940px X 788px
  • Facebook Cover Photo: 851px X 315px
  • Instagram Post: 640px X 640px
  • YouTube Channel Art: 2560px X 1440px
  • Google+ Photo: 1240px X 700px

You can also visit LinkedIn Learning for design, web, video, tutorials and more. You can even use LinkedIn Learning tutorials to learn how to use Adobe software. LinkedIn Learning requires a membership but offers thousands of courses to train on your own terms. Next time, learn how to use social media schedulers to improve time management online.
