Carol Genengels, born in Seattle, grew up in the Pacific Northwest, enjoying summers at her aunt’s beach house. Her childhood prayer for a husband who would take her to church was answered when she met Ted in high school. Married for 64 years, Carol studied Medical Assisting and worked in healthcare before retiring. She co-founded A Woman’s Touch Ministry, serving as director for 15 years, and authored numerous stories, poems, and devotionals featured in books like Chicken Soup for the Soul and magazines like Woman’s Day. Her books, Unfailing Love and Fingerprints on the Altar Rails, have touched many lives. Carol and Ted co-founded Grays Harbor’s first NAMI affiliate, earning a Phoenix Award for their mental health advocacy. Her article, A Cry for Help, influenced legislation funding mental health.
