Torchflame Books Large Print
We are thrilled to be able to offer our titles in large print format in an effort to support higher accessibility and literacy across independent publishing. At Torchflame Books we believe books should be enjoyed by all people and that readers should be able to find themselves in these books.
Large print format books are ideal for readers who face eye-strain, screen fatigue, vision impairments, or who need more space on the page to help them focus on the words.
Torchflame Books is dedicated to supporting readers however they read, and we are excited to begin this rollout in 2025:
- We will begin in February with a selection of our titles for young adults.
- In April, we are excited to release a selection of mysteries and thrillers.
- In May, we will release a selection of our biographies and memoirs.
- In June, we will release a selection of the rest of our fiction.
If a book is already scheduled for release in 2025, the Large Print edition will release with the paperback and ebook. New books will be added as we continue to produce our backlist in Large Print format as the year goes on, so please check back often to see which books have been released in large print format.
Books produced by Torchflame Books Large Print will be set in 16pt Iowan Old Style type with high contrast and plenty of space on the page to reduce eye strain. In most cases, the design of the large print book will not vary from the standard type paperback except in line spacing and font size. We believe that books with larger type should be as beautiful as their standard type counterparts. When design changes are present, those changes were made with accessibility in mind.

The interior design matches the standard paperback edition with the exception of the main font size being size 16 point font or larger. This lager type and additional space between the lines makes the text easier to read, decreasing eye strain and assisting readers who struggle to focus.

Large print books have been helpful for young readers struggling to focus on the words or who need more motivation to complete a book. Because large print books have fewer lines per page, readers can move through each page more quickly which can provide a sense of achievement for reluctant readers. In support of literacy, Torchflame Books is producing large print editions for all of our young adult titles in addition to the standard paperback and ebook editions.
